CSC SIGNS $70 MILLION IT OUTSOURCING CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH TDC
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 12 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has signed an information technology (IT) outsourcing agreement with TDC, Denmark’s largest provider of communication solutions. The seven-year contract is valued at approximately $70 million.
The new agreement follows and is incremental to a $70 million IT outsourcing agreement to CSC from TDC in February 2003, under which CSC supports a broad range of TDC’s business-critical applications.
Under terms of the new agreement, CSC will provide fully managed desktop services to TDC in Denmark. Approximately 112 TDC employees are expected to transition to CSC in Denmark on March 1, 2005.
“We continuously evaluate the future potential of our different activity areas,” said Klaus Pedersen, chief executive officer of TDC Services. “When we – as in this case – conclude that others can realize a bigger potential than ourselves, then we look for a strong partner. We have chosen CSC because we expect and believe that they will provide the greatest value regarding the delivery of managed desktop services while also offering new career opportunities to our IT staff.”
“We are pleased to expand the scope of our work with TDC,” said Guy Hains, president of CSC’s European Group. “This agreement builds upon our existing successful relationship and demonstrates the confidence our clients have in CSC’s experience and ability to achieve significant business results for clients in the Nordic region.”
